My 3 Sephora Hacks For Your Next Big Trip

Sephora is the perfect place to stock up on your travel beauty needs. There are a couple of little-known secrets that I’ve gained through my weekly visits to the store over the last 5 years. These secrets have helped make my packing so much easier and I think they can help you too.

With that being said, here are my top 3 Sephora hacks to use when shopping for a trip:

1. Ask for samples (Always always always)

I’m not just talking about checkout samples (though, you should ask for those too!) No, I’m talking about the kind of samples that aren’t advertised.

Here’s how you do it.

Normally I start chatting with an employee to get their feel for a few different brands of whatever product I’m in the market for. I always pick one that I want to try and then ask their opinion on another brand. I then request a sample of both products. They give you these tiny airtight containers, which seem small, but it’s the perfect amount of travel.

2. Take your time in the checkout line

Take ample time weaving through the checkout line to explore all of the impulse-purchase products that line the path to the register. This is the motherload of travel items.

I found a 9-shade eyeshadow palette for 27 dollars. I love this because when I travel with all of my eyeshadow, it takes up a ton of room in my makeup bag. This small version has every single color that I regularly use and an indestructible hardcover to protect from travel damage.

3. Use Your Points

Traveling is the perfect excuse to use your Sephora Points. Their beauty insider samples are usually 5-10 mls which is a good amount of product for any trip.

For me, I got two travel-size hydrating masks with my points, because I anticipated consuming massive amounts of Tequila which makes your skin incredibly thirsty.

I got the Rose Mask from Fresh, which is meant to hydrate and tone; and I also got the Watermelon Glow Sleep Mask from Glow Recipe. The Glow mask is extremely popular right now (they were actually sold out of the full size at my Sephora,) so if you have points to spare I would recommend getting two of these sets. You will not be disappointed.

That's it! Super simple, but effective in getting the most out of your Sephora visit.
